Deal storytelling and adviser visibility: speaking at Oaklins’ global conference

Deal storytelling and adviser visibility: speaking at Oaklins’ global conference

In October 2026 I spoke at Oaklins’ autumn global conference, which brought the group’s offices from around the world to Dublin. Oaklins is an international group of more than 900 M&A and corporate finance professionals in 40 countries.

I ran two sessions. A workshop for the brand managers and marketing teams on deal storytelling and adviser visibility on LinkedIn, and a plenary for managing partners on how advisers get found today.

Questions the workshop explored

  • How can marketing teams help M&A advisers become more visible on LinkedIn, without posting for the sake of posting?

  • How does a closed transaction become a story about the people behind it, rather than a logo announcement?

  • How do you tell deal stories while protecting client confidentiality?

Questions the plenary explored

  • What did an adviser’s reputation rest on before any of it could be looked up?

  • When someone is given your name, what do they do before they get in touch?

  • What does an AI tool say about you when a prospect asks it who they should talk to?

  • What can an individual adviser do to curate what their own market finds about them?

None of this replaces a good reputation. It is a simple hurdle, and not one worth falling at.
