Back To All InsightsIreland's EU Presidency: A BD Opportunity for Firms
Ireland's EU Presidency will bring a window of national attention. Firms that benefit most from moments like this are the ones intentional about where they show up, who they want to meet, and what they want to be known for.

Ireland's turn in the EU Presidency is one of those moments that comes around rarely and matters more than firms expect. International attention shifts to Dublin. Conferences land here. Foreign investors and intermediaries start asking questions about Irish advisers.
Most firms will treat this as background noise. A small number will treat it as a deliberate visibility window. In a recent feature for Business Plus, I argued that the firms that benefit most from these moments are the ones that decide ahead of time where they want to show up, who they want to meet, and what they want to be known for.
Three things worth thinking about now:
1. Which sectors will attract international attention during the Presidency window, and where does your firm have a credible angle?
2. Which intermediaries (legal, banking, advisory) will be the conduit for international referrals, and how visible are you to them?
3. What published thinking will you put in market in advance, so prospects who Google your firm find a reason to engage?
This is not a six-week marketing exercise. It is a twelve-month positioning play. The firms that will benefit started thinking about it in 2025.
